In honor of Air Max Day, I’m releasing the new artwork for Pompidou, a beat tape I released with Sole Imperial as an homage to the Air Max 1. To me the AM1 is one of the greatest examples of using design and branding to tell a story. Tinker Hatfield’s influence from the Centre Pompidou led him to leave the Air technology visible in the shoe, which was a revolutionary design concept at the time.
